Regional Vice-President of Sub-Saharan Africa
Viktor Polikarpov joined Rosatom as Regional Vice-President of Sub-Saharan Africa in mid-2014, with the aim of developing and supporting the business activities of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation in Africa. He has a wealth of expertise, with a strong background in international relations and business development. Having started his career with the former Soviet government he Š¾occupied many positions, including diplomatic posts in Africa. 
In the early 90’s he submerged himself into the satellite communication business having worked for Inmarsat (UK) in Russia  as Vice-President  Marketing & Sales  of Morsviazsputnik,  Senior Director Marketing & Sales Middle East & Africa of  MVS -USA  (USA) and finally CEO of ND Satcom GMBH (Germany), Moscow Branch. Since 2007, Mr Polikarpov has dedicated his life towards promoting foreign business in Southern Africa. In the capacity of Senior Adviser, International Relations at Renova Group of Companies, he provided top-level support and professional lobbying of the company’s operations in Africa and ultimately laid the path for the Renova manganese project in South Africa. He was also responsible for Russian-South African business matchmaking, running the Russia-South Africa Business Council as its first Executive Secretary. 
Most recently and for more than three years he occupied the Director’s seat of the South African Branch of GPB Neftegaz Services B.V., a Dutch subsidiary of Gazprombank which is the third largest bank of Russia, sourcing and implementing venture capital investment projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, in oil & gas and mining & energy. Mr Polikarpov graduated from the Universities of St. Petersburg and Moscow having specialised in linguistics and social psychology.  He mastered his business proficiency at numerous post-graduate and business administration courses.
