Pumi is a Chief Executive Officer of the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone, since his appointment he has thrived on various initiatives, particularly ensuring that RBIDZ becomes a motor-force of change and takes a central role in the economic transformation and infrastructural development.
Pumi is a dynamic and seasoned executive with more than eighteen years working experience in Ports, shipping, logistics, freight transportation and maritime development. He possesses resilient business and project management experience as demonstrated by control, management and execution of diverse capital infrastructure projects amongst others in the Port of Durban’s Capital Works Programme.
In his past experience Pumi has driven various major property acquisitions such as Salisbury Island and the Durban International Airport for Port development. He has been involved in the formulation and development of Transnet’s Strategic Infrastructure Projects (SIP) under the Presidential Infrastructure Coordinating Commission (PICC). He has also managed diverse Programme and Projects portfolio comprising of specialist Project Managers, Engineers, Electricians, Property Portfolio Managers, Port Planners and Financial Managers.
He holds a B.A. Administration Degree, Masters in Town and Regional Planning, Post-Graduate Diploma in Shipping, Transportation and Logistics and Executive Development Program in Supply Chain Management.
