Femi Akinrebiyo is a Principal Investment Officer with the International Finance
Corporation (IFC) based in Washington, DC. He has been with IFC for eleven years and leads the implementation of the Joint World Bank Group Energy Business Plan for Nigeria, an initiative that is mobilizing the combined WBG resources to support the FGN to accelerate implementation of reforms (including supporting the FGN in the development of its Power Sector Recover Program), attract private investment, and fast-track key projects to financial close. In this role, Femi is responsible for the medium to long term business development in Nigeria, including building partnerships with key stakeholders and supporting transformational engagements. Femi is on the board of Lekela Power B.V, a pan-African renewable energy company with operations in Egypt, Ghana, Senegal and South Africa
Prior to his current role, he has played leading roles in structuring and investing over a billion dollars for IFC in Asia, Latin America and Africa. Femi’s background includes working for ExxonMobil as a Project Engineer and other multinational companies, including Philips Projects and Spar Aerospace.
He holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Illinois, USA and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
