Alexander is head of BLP's Africa-focused energy and infrastructure practice. He advises sovereigns, utilities, investors and other participants on transactional, corporate and regulatory matters related to energy and infrastructure projects, including project financing.
Alexander’s practice focuses almost exclusively on Africa, where he lived for three years between 2013-2016. Now based in Dubai, which is widely seen as a gateway to investment into Africa, he is spearheading BLP’s drive to grow our Africa practice.
Alexander is a German trained and qualified lawyer (Rechtsanwalt), admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, admitted as a legal consultant in Dubai (U.A.E.), and has a Masters in Law in International and European Business Law (summa cum laude). He is also a member of the Advisory Council to the Millennium Challenge Corporation - an independent U.S. Government foreign aid agency.
