IGCS Site Visit

We've organised a  complimentary site visit to the Avon Power Plant for delegates attending the International Gas Cooperation Summit
Kindly hosted by sponsor Ansaldo Energia
The plant is South Africa’s first large Independent Power Project with a capacity of 685MW - a joint venture (JV) between partners France’s Engie, South Africa’s Legend Power Solutions, Japan’s Mitsui & Co and The Peaker Trust.
A consortium led by the Italian engineering and construction company Ansaldo Energia was responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) as well as commissioning and tests of both AVON project and the separate 370MW DEDISA project in Port Elizabeth.
Ansaldo Energia’s scope of supply, for the two Projects, included engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the power island (Ansaldo Energia’s own AE94.2 gas turbines, electrical generators and relevant auxiliaries), site installation and civil works.
