EnergyNet is pleased to announce that the annual Africa Renewable Energy Forum (ARF) will take place in Casablanca from 30th November-1st December 2017. Following the first Africa Renewable Energy Forum in November 2016, this meeting will once again bring together the public and private sector to drive forward the development of renewable energy projects across the continent.

At last year’s Forum we addressed the opportunity for Africa on the global renewable energy development stage and discussed climate resilience strategies for sustainable energy development to meet the climate change requirements in the context of COP22. This year we will explore practical solutions on clean project financing, climate-smart solutions and innovative community-owned projects.

Why Attend

WHY THE AFRICA RENEWABLE ENERGY FORUM?

Africa Renewable Energy Forum in numbers 2016

The Africa Renewable Energy Forum was held as the official labeled side event to COP22.

Why attend the Forum this year?

This year forum will be a place where it will showcase projects in the pipeline from African governments, as well as project developers.  In a report from the International Energy Agency (IEA), renewables are expected to cover more than 60% of the increase in world electricity generation over the medium term. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), released a report in October 2015 called "Africa 2030". This report highlighted some of the incredible growth the continent will see in the coming decade and a half.  It stated renewable energy can more than quadruple by 2030 to 22%, compared to today's level of about 6%.
