Investment Networking

The Africa Energy Forum is the interface between the public and private sector. Investment networking facilitates investment by bringing governments and business together to discuss the opportunities and difficulties of investing in Africa's energy sector. Thirty-seven African government ministers, 28 government officials, 53 heads of power and water utilities have spoken at the Africa Energy Forum. Representatives from 33 African countries have attended.
In addition to Government-to-business meetings, business-to-business contacts are of course an essential part of the forum. A principal aim of sponsorship is to give sponsors an advantage in the investment networking process.

• Most sponsors will have access to the delegate list before the conference, which helps them arrange meetings in advance.

• Forum and MarketPlace sponsors have their own hospitality suite in the conference centre where they can arrange meetings.

• Sponsors are allocated complimentary registrations, which can be used to either invite guests or increase their corporate presence at the conference.

• Sponsors can identify who they would like to meet at the conference and EnergyNet will invite them to attend as delegates.

• EnergyNet will contact ministers to propose that they participate in pre-arranged meetings during the conference. Sponsors will be given first choice to meet ministers.

• Most sponsors are allocated free exhibition space. An exhibition stand is a focal point, and therefore can be used to promote networking.

• Most sponsors will be entitled to a complete delegate list with contact details after the conference.

Publicity and corporate exposure

The publicity and corporate exposure attached to sponsorship increases profile, which helps develop business contacts.

• Sponsors have a speaking slot; forum sponsors can have a keynote speaking slot in the plenary session.

• Forum sponsors can display their corporate banner throughout the conference, in all sessions.

• Session sponsors can display their corporate banner in the session they are sponsoring.

• Lunch sponsors can display their banner during lunch and give a short address during the lunch.

• The sponsor's logo and a corporate description will appear in the conference brochure, in the conference book, and on the conference website.

• The logo of the sponsor of the AEF web pages will appear on each AEF web page, and will remain for the conference year.

• The logo of the sponsor of the AEF MarketSite will appear on each web page, and will remain for the conference year.

• The name of the forum sponsors and document sponsor will appear on the conference bag.

• Sponsors' corporate literature will be included in the conference bag.

• Corporate information can be distributed to delegates via email on behalf of sponsors, although the extent of this service will be determined by the level of sponsorship.
