The strategic investment into ABSA in Africa allows Barclays to position itself as both a fully local African Bank as well as a fully Global Bank. As a combined group, Barclays-ABSA is the largest bank in Africa. The group boasts a highly specialised and focused Power and Energy team, based on the ground in South Africa, with pan African responsibilities.
