Soitec is a leading manufacturer and supplier of concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) systems using highly efficient Concentrix™ technology based on German engineering excellence. The company has a track record, with the first commercial power plants installed in 2008. In September 2010 a 60 kW pilot facility was installed at the Aquila Private Game Reserve. The companies 500 kW CPV plant which was built near Durban in 2011 helped to power the United Nation’s conference on global climate change. In January 2012 Soitec announced that it secured financing for a 50 MW solar power plant in Touwsrivier, Western Cape, South Africa.
